My Story
My journey is a testament to the power of transformation, healing, and the incredible potential of creative expression and somatic practices.
Fitness has always been a core part of my life. As a young girl, I started running with my dad and experimented with various sports. But like many teenagers, a change in my friend group led me down a path of early drug and alcohol use. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was numbing the trauma I had experienced in my childhood—bullying for being overweight and biracial, emotional neglect, and other challenges. Partying, drugs, risky behavior, and promiscuity became my coping mechanisms, leading me into dangerous situations and cycles of abuse. Yet, amidst this chaos, I always found my way back to fitness, discovering yoga and running in the lush green of the Pacific Northwest. I committed to these practices during the week, only to throw it all away on weekend benders. This cycle worked for nearly a decade—until it didn't.
Everything began to change when I discovered hula hoop dancing within a nightlife community in Sacramento. This newfound passion awakened something within me, giving me a sense of purpose and a reason to take better care of myself. I became deeply committed to honing my skills as a dancer, getting fit, and eventually creating a hula hoop dance troupe in 2015. This troupe became known for distinctive performances and interactive entertainment at events like Concert in the Parks, City of Trees, and Crocker Art Museum’s Block by Block. Over time, my focus shifted towards using hula hoop dancing as a powerful tool for building confidence, community, creativity, and cultivating wholeness. This passion for teaching led me to become a Certified Hoop Love Coach, Group Fitness Instructor, and Personal Trainer.
Even though I was fit, busy, and deeply involved in my community, I found myself trapped in the same cycles—working hard during the week and partying on the weekends. Eventually, I partied less, only to have work become my new coping strategy. I developed an addiction to Adderall, which I initially used to keep up with school and responsibilities. It all came to a head during the pandemic, forcing me to reevaluate my life. I made the difficult decision to dissolve my troupe, leave the fitness industry, and turn inward, confronting the unresolved trauma of my childhood. My first therapist was helpful in some ways, but I felt invalidated when she told me I was "just sensitive." This experience inspired me to explore alternative modalities.
Determined to heal, I got off Adderall with the help of psilocybin microdosing, which reduced my desire for drugs and alcohol. Around the same time, I discovered Revelation Breathwork, a practice that, much like hula hooping, transformed my life. It allowed me to feel again and process the pain and emotions I had suppressed for years. I also felt an intuitive nudge to get off hormonal birth control and begin working with the moon. Looking back, I see how cycles and circles have always guided me. I began to use breath, movement, meditation, and menstrual cycle awareness as powerful tools for healing, discovery, and transformation, eventually sharing them with my clients and community.
In 2022, I deepened my healing journey by studying with a trauma specialist. Although I was there to learn how to better support my clients, I quickly realized I was also there to heal my deepest wounds. While I had made great strides with breathwork, I still dealt with anxiety, chronic pain, and people-pleasing tendencies. Finally, everything I had experienced in my life made sense. I felt seen, validated, and understood, and I knew this would become a new way of being for me.
My facilitation style now blends mindfulness, movement, creative expression, and a deep connection to feminine wisdom. I primarily work with women and children, drawing on a wide range of experiences in corporate, educational, and event settings. As a perpetual learner, I am currently pursuing my Master's in Art Therapy and Counseling. My vision extends beyond individual transformations; I dream of a world shaped by healthy, empowered women leading the way. My work is dedicated to fueling the rise of the feminine and the next women's revolution.
When I’m not immersed in my practices, learning, or fulfilling my life's purpose, you can find me cherishing moments with my husband and two cats. I find joy in cooking, dancing, singing, and exploring new places, all while nurturing my body, mind, and soul.
